8 weeks I might die
This feeling of loss is unreal
Why have such a beautiful weekend
Then abandon each other to heal
8 weeks I’m pacing
I can’t even touch the ground
I’m staring at the calendar
Wishing I could rush it down
8 weeks is so long
We’ve not separated that long
Since the day we met
Our heart connection was so strong
8 weeks and I don’t know
If we’ll ever see each other again
I can’t take this withdrawal
From our Venn diagram
8 weeks and a forever
Into the abyss
What if he decides
He doesn’t want this mess
Because that is what I am
Climbing the walls
Hiding and crying
Grieving this pause
Because what if this pause
Is a break up
I’m not ready to move on
Get out and put make up
8 weeks breathe
8 weeks we can do
We can stick to the plan
And do what were supposed to.

There was a little snail waiting on a bridge
She waited all day and all night
She waited in the sun, the wind, and the rain
She didn’t want to give up the fight
She looked out to the water
She looked over to the land
She wondered what could have happened
She started to worry
In came some doubt
Perhaps she’ll be waiting forever
As strong as her heart was she wasn’t a fool
She knew there was a chance of change
She waited, she feared, she even prayed
In hope that time was just delayed
There was a little snail waiting on a bridge… -
There was a girl with bright blue eyes
Who lived behind thick glass
Watching the world from her window
Enjoying the moments that passed
The sun shone in and warmed her core
The rain would never reach her
Protected by this transparent sheet
She was such a gentle creature
Then one day along came a boy
He reached into the glass
He took one look and held her hand
They fell in love quite fast
But the boy lived in the outside world
Not behind this pane
So each day he would return home
Leaving the girl in pain
She would sob for hours clutching her heart
Behind the glass wall that protects her
It silenced both sides very well
So sadly no one could hear her
Each day he’d come step into the glass
Share a warm embrace
Each night he’d leave end with a kiss
Delicately placed on her face
Back through the glass the boy would go
Continue on with his life
Whilst each time he left her fear would grow
Her heart riddled with strife
They started to quarrel the girl and boy
Their moments no longer gentle
Until one day they just had enough
On parting they decided to settle
Sat in her window the girl looked on
Watching the world go by
Back to his life the boy did go
Never hearing her cry -
In Ravenscourt Park there was an old man
Who lived in an alabaster cave
Each morning he’d eat Bitterness on Toast
Then for work he would leave
With his glass jar tucked under his arm
Hobbling through the streets
Waiting for the moment tension would strike
To gather his bittersweet treat
Throughout the day he’d fill his jar
Revelling in its growing weight
Daydreaming the joy of getting home
To eat his sandwich filled with hate
To sit at the table with his favourite plate
And fill his belly full of misery
Then off to bed he’d take himself
Where he would dream of history
The dreams weren’t much different
From the days that he had
Except for the ring on his finger
And the smile that greeted him at the door
But the bitterness it did linger
While he ate his sandwich filled with hate
His wife ate strawberry jam
Too sweet was the taste of her lips
It angered the little old man
Night after night he’d dream of those lips
A never ending cycle of torment
Waking up to the brim with anxiety
Ready for a day of resentment -
Marooned on a desert island
Despairing how she got here
Thankfully she’s not alone
At her side her good friend Fear
Fear looks on with kind eyes
Soothing the relentless shadow
Feeding island coconuts
Making soup out of her bone marrow
The soup tastes so good to the ever delirious
They reminisce of times gone past
They hug until the moon does rise
Then Fear decides she wants to dance
In her frenzy she kills the fire
And accidentally spills the fresh water
It’s ok, it’s not your fault
She tries not to scold her
But Fear is in her element
A whirling dervish in the moon light
Helplessly a surrender takes place
With a gentle fade, Fear wins the night -
How much time has passed
She doesn’t know
She’s been lifelessly in limbo
The clock keeps ticking
As for her heart
She thinks it stopped a while ago
Her hands are cold
Though the sun shines strong
The days go on without her
No desire to breathe
There’s something wrong
But fixing it is beyond her
She closes her eyes
But it doesn’t matter
No rest is found, no slumber
Her slow demise
Her delicate flame
Reduced to a mere ember -
She watched the little donkey
Looking at the egg
He didn’t understand how to boil it
She gave him the pan
And a simple plan
But the donkey just couldn’t relay it
With a roll of her eyes
She offered to help
As dozens of eggs had been broken
With his clumsy hooves
She wanted to prove
His appendages weren’t the problem
The issue was the story he told himself
The useless victim ass
Repeating old stories
It got very boring
She thought he’d never pass the class
Children came and went
But the little donkey stayed put
Focused on this oval mystery
How can something hard
Be runny inside
His brain delved into history
“Which came first the chicken or the egg?“
She looked at him in dispair
“We’re just boiling an egg!
For the love of a Greggs!
Can you get your head in gear?“
The donkey bowed his head
A tear hit the floor
She really did feel awful
Maybe she didn’t have the patience
To teach this delinquent
The tears started to pour
She left the room
Left the donkey inside
And went into the garden
Breathed the fresh air
As a fly went past her hair
Suddenly she noticed her face had hardened
She wondered how long she had been frowning like that
Forehead furrowed and stern
She closed her eyes
Let out a huge sigh
Ready with her self back in alignment
She packed all her tools
Walked out of the school
And let someone else deal with that donkeys assigment. -
Everyone knows the sun and the moon
They rise and fall
Warm and cool us
King of the day
Queen of the night
One brightens the dark
The other graces the light
But there is this moment when both spheres overlap
Embraced in each other
Their energy enwrapped
Dancing for a moment
Eclipsing the world
The eternal lovers
What beauty unfurls
Time does tick
The earth does spin
The tides are in motion
The cycle must continue
Pulling away from each other’s hold
They bid adieu and get back to their roles
Counting the seconds until together again
The eternal tragedy or the epic romance
Each of them longing their day will come soon
The hidden story of the Sun and the Moon
