The smiling rabbit bounces around
Jumping over flowers pleasing the crowd
Meeting does and bucks
Not giving too many fucks
But there’s another side to this leporidae
Soft, gentle and quiet
Shy, frightened and alert
Keeping herself in the shadows
So bunny does not get hurt
Juxtaposed in so many ways
Confused are the audience who see her
Assuming she’s all they see
But this she can never be
By design she’s destined to be torn

The weekend wasn’t enough
When her share was halved
She longed to stop time for a moment
Gaze at his face
Feel his warm embrace
The lump in her throat as he left
Scared by her feelings, she pushed him
Put on her mask and told a good tale
Stories she wrote
But honest she was not
For the story that hurt her was this one
Waiting on the sea she’ll find him
Once she finished her ship
But weak and unsure if she’ll make it
And perhaps another love he will meet
Unfinished and hidden went the story
Afraid she’d scare him away
Masked she slunk into the shadows
Feeling safe, the little sparrow was brave
Alas, she promised to be true
And love hard she does do
Bare all! Surrender to the universe
Whatever will be, will be
If her husband is meant to be waiting
Then waiting she will find he
If not, then just enjoy what is
Let go of what you cannot grasp
Allow the waters to settle
Hold her own heart in a clasp
Unable to stop her falling
She falls all the time
Clumsy she is with her feelings
But meh, it makes for good rhymes -
He closes his eyes, and there is darkness
The world stops and he can breathe once again,
He turns within and reaches out
To the hand that holds him
So gently yet firm guides his swim
He trusts her, so waves his limbs
Looking back she’s getting further away
Her smile, his security
The confidence he has to win
He let go, now he’s free
His mother watches him leave
Abandoned by design
She wipes a tear on to her sleeve
The smile still prevalent
Her heart in a race
Her offspring fully fledged
She can no longer see his face
Alone with the feathers
A simple memory for one
Her love undeniable
Nests indentation of an empty son
Long she forgot who she was
A mother seems all she knows
Her independence simply subjective
To the outside that come and goes
Passing like the daily sun
Clockwork they cast their shadow
Throwing in their pennies
Judging the falling sparrow -
I fell for the sun
I was born chasing it
But somehow I got trapped under a cloud
I long for the warmth
I crave it
And seek it in places that don’t do me proud
I see the light in you
And I see it in me
Yet I forsake it for struggles of worth
I’m so proud of you
You abandoned me
Yet beside me we felt a rebirth
Sail across the seas
Come coax me
Send me your beautiful face
Look into my eyes
Unlock this
Tell my spirit to join the race
She’s at the line
Just sleeping
It’s been a while she was free
Your intensity
She needs it
You spur her to unleash -
You told me to find a guy who would treat me good
You told me to stop chasing the pretty boys
The universe heard us and cast her spell
And today we met at a drinking well.
She aligned so much in both our hearts
Our dreams our hurt our disregards
Pure of blood, kind of heart
And yet I feel torn apart
I feel like I’m settling
I feel somewhere there’s more
How selfish can I be, to turn down this score
Highest ranking compatibity in both our signs
But the fire? The fire?
He’ll look after me
The fire?
Do I turn and walk away in search for flames?
Or do I hold his hand and agree to stay?
The fire! The… fire…. Do I… stay? -
The river runs silent
It flows
Past mountains
Through valleys
It knows
The route by heart
The pain does smart
The silence that’s crippled her toes
Boulders start to form in her pathway
Trees splinter
Water does slow
Little does she know
The unsaid needs to be spoken -
If I hold you for a moment
You hold me in return
I gaze into your eyes
Wipe a tear from my frown
My heart on the table
Right next to yours
No judgement in this moment
Just love shining down
Encapsulated by this energy
A safe place to de-shed
And stitch up those wounds
We’ve begun to dread
I’ll hold the needle
You man the thread
Let’s guide each other
Down the passageway
Into the light we tread
Until we’re basking in the sunshine
Surrounded by sea
Sails waft above us
And we’re healed completely. -
The busy little bee
So busy near her hive
Spending her time
Ducking and diving
Searching for pollen
Seeking the flowers
Suckling the nectar
To give her magic powers -
Stillness of the night
Welcome! Come join me
I’m sitting enjoying the silence
I’ve had a long day
A few moments I lost it
Come sit. I value your patience
