How much time has passed
She doesn’t know
She’s been lifelessly in limbo
The clock keeps ticking
As for her heart
She thinks it stopped a while ago
Her hands are cold
Though the sun shines strong
The days go on without her
No desire to breathe
There’s something wrong
But fixing it is beyond her
She closes her eyes
But it doesn’t matter
No rest is found, no slumber
Her slow demise
Her delicate flame
Reduced to a mere ember

The warrior stands there panting
Bodies sprawled in blood
Was this battle worth it
Was it worth it for this mud
She looks across the horizon
Her heart filled with pain
She brings her eyes in closer
To see a child with bloodied veins
Palms turned over, she’s shaking
She crumbles to her knees
Let’s out a mighty howl
The sound echoes through the trees
The tone of pure despair
From her deepest corners
A memory from her childhood
Glazes her eyes for a moment
She remembers playing in these fields
Laughing, joking, running
Now her eyes turn to her friend
Who is no longer breathing
She inhales deep, gathers herself
Her energy has shifted
Back to what she came to do
For this she will be gifted
The last battle done, she can retire
She longs for the tranquil ocean
Sitting on a quiet beach
Watching the waves in motion
She turns away and grabs the flag
Walks towards her horse that waits
They both have done enough today
And they leave the city gates. -
There was an adventurous rabbit
Who made her way to the water
There she met a sea goat
Who liked the idea of a saunter
They chatted by the cliffs for a good ole while
Their eyes glistened of what could be
They decided to take the plunge
And link journeys gently
On their travels they had so much time to chat
They talked about healing and pain
They cried for hours healing hearts
And beautifully they both felt the same
But over time rabbit noticed
The sea goat could be quite mean
He’d say some things just to hurt her
The air between them no longer clean
He’d make comments on her past
How fast did she run
How many litters has she had
He sniggered whenever she rolled in grass
And eventually the rabbit felt bad
She did not like the sea goat anymore
For she felt he thought she was trash
Trash he picked up for a while
So he didn’t care if he was brash
But the rabbit was gentle and soft
And respected herself more than him
So one day when they got near shore
She hopped over brim
The rabbit ran and didn’t look back
She didn’t look into the past
She smiled at Sun glistening above
And rolled happily in the grass. -
As the sun went down
Where the metal birds flew
The little snail sat in the crowd
She breathed real deep
Trying not to feel weak
Instead she wanted to feel proud
The little snail sailed to the lilly and back
With her love by her side
He guided, loved and held her close
For the whole week she felt so alive
But the clock did tick and time did fly
Now it’s time for the little snail to go home
Back to her leaves, her little monkeys
Leaving her big love alone
The little snail sits in the crowded room
With all the buzzing wasps
Missing the tranquility
The silence, the beauty
That Henny and her love did gift lots
She closes her eyes
And to her surprise
She finds herself back on Henny
In the arms of her love with the stars above
Sharing delicate kisses a plenty. -
There was a man who lived on the sea
Who had a dying wife
Each day he would serenade her
And warm her heart each night
She got sicker and sicker
But little did he know
Since the smile that shone out of her
Dazzled the darkest boats
So the man went to the port
And met a young lady
They had their way on the beach
While the wife lay in pain
The man returned and told his wife
He felt confused by his actions
But the wife simply passed away
Her soul abandoned her in seconds
Looking down she watched them
No longer who they were
Saddened by this tragedy
Both beyond repair
She looked across the bed frame
And up towards the night
There was his soul opposite
His eyes blue like the sky
No words came out of their mouths
But so much was shared
Without their bodies
Only love was heard
It filled the sky like an explosion
It warmed the earth for days
They wondered as they floated back
Could they survive this phase
They slowly returned to atoms
Into denseness they were cramped
She opened her eyes as he held her hand
And for life they did thank. -
Silent went the radio
All frequency had stopped
Alone was the astronaut
In space the connection had dropped
Panicked he kept himself busy
Hoping the waves would soon clear
But all day nothing!
Nothing was heard by his ear
Desperate he called SOS
And waited by the desk
Waited and waited
Mentally put to the test
Beep beep dot dot
Do you hear me? Over!
Beer beep dot dot
Thank fuck for that! Roger! -
I can’t have an ‘all the best‘ or a ‘have a nice life’.
Our hearts are raw and in pain.
How awful this end for a husband and his wife.
No listening was done, and she couldn’t open his eyes.
Beyond the mirror and his self obsessed life.
When friends they were, open they spoke.
Calmly they loved and often they would joke.
But husband somehow changed, as did the wife
When they realised how intense was their life
They built up walls
And cried for hours
They destroyed softness
With their magic powers
The ones they were meant to use for love
They used to destroy
The scared little girl and the frightened boy
For a moment she thought perhaps he was more
Than what she ended up bargaining for
Letting him in to such a sacred space,
Within her soul family
She lost her face
At least he didn’t meet her blood
At least she didn’t get covered in mud
At least she realised before it was too late
The man was a boy, a fragile state.
She thought she could hold him.
Make him feel brave.
She knew she could love him
To the end of her days.
If only he listened to her open heart
We would not have created her new scar
I guess alone like the wolf she always was.
And back to the sea returns his cross
In the dreams they sail together holding hands
Swimming the seas and dancing on sands
Until distant becomes their memory,
Their love fades away,
They get distracted by others
And new games they start to play
For now that’s just a wishful thought
As the wife she sits a sobbing
Saying farewell to her beautiful husband
While her heart is weak and throbbing -
With all the anticipation of a kids birthday
My body went into decline
Everything started failing
And no one knew the time
No one knew my thoughts
No one cared how I felt
The empty questions unanswered
As I undid my car seat belt
No one saw it coming
No one read the signs
The crash that could of been prevented
Went full force in front of their eyes
I guess I got too tired
Time to go home I guess
All the guessing with no certainly
No wonder I was in a mess
I can see me lying there lifeless
My jeans covered in blood
The paramedic trying to revive me
“It’s too late, her heart has stopped“
I watch the scene for a second
Before I drift away
Back to where I came from
To live another day -
I’m sick
The pan is on fire
Can someone turn off the heat?
I’m sick
The pan is on fire
How many times do I have to repeat?!
I’m sick
My house is on fire
Time for me to retreat
I’m sick
Back to my bed
Let the flames engulf my feet
Come soothe my soul while I take time to heal
Come dampen the fire around me
I’ve not the energy to be your muse
While my body cries sick so gently
It just wants holding while it weeps
Not the heat of the flames
It’s heavy with water leaked out from sky
Perhaps one pop will do wonders
Like a water balloon on a summers day
I can save my house by exploding
And off down the drain my water can run
Back to the river I was born in -
The inhale like the ocean waves gliding like satin across the shore
Her exhale a reminder of the rhythm
The earth, the moon and the mighty sun
The joys found within this prison
The plants that cool her blistering skin
The water that quenches her thirst
The tears that run down her happy face
When she’s reminded of what she loves most
The thoughts she has as she watches the world
Her cognitive intelligent brain
Far superior than her neighbours cat
Or the man sleeping on the train
The precious sleep she enjoys 7 hours a night
The woman that lies beside her
Watching the rise and fall of her chest
The doctors say it’s terminal inside her
How quickly everything fades away
The children, the family what-have-you.
Faced with a tumbling cliff
To the ocean where we found you.
