What is a team?
Not this, we say. Not this.
You want to talk my dear?
Wait for the child to sleep, can we?
Oh! You’re more important?!
[She breathes, her heart dead weight]
A single male in the wild can never be trusted, for he will kill the cubs for his gain
How human are we?
Not much, I say. Not much.
There’s not much to say my dear
Actions speak louder than words, it seems.
Oh! I guess this isn’t important!
[She breathes, her heart more weight than gold]
A mother will never feel bad for sacrificing a man for the welfare and love of her child.
How human are we?
We are mothers! Regardless of species.
We are women.
We are what it means to be humane.
Something a man may never truly understand…

There’s a family of rats
That live down the road
They live on the water
On a cluttered boat
I visit them sometimes
Give them some food
Amuse the mother
Play with her brood
I feel so much better, slumming with the rats
It keeps be grounded, while I saunt the fat cats
The rich ladies in their white houses
Their clean space without mouses
Slumming with the rats
Playing some guitar
Drinking some wine
Laughing haha
Sometimes they come a little too close
Forgetting they’re rats
And I’m the noble host
So shoo them I must
Put them back in place
For a rat has no place within my space -
There was a man who lived on the sea
Who had a dying wife
Each day he would serenade her
And warm her heart each night
She got sicker and sicker
But little did he know
Since the smile that shone out of her
Dazzled the darkest boats
So the man went to the port
And met a young lady
They had their way on the beach
While the wife lay in pain
The man returned and told his wife
He felt confused by his actions
But the wife simply passed away
Her soul abandoned her in seconds
Looking down she watched them
No longer who they were
Saddened by this tragedy
Both beyond repair
She looked across the bed frame
And up towards the night
There was his soul opposite
His eyes blue like the sky
No words came out of their mouths
But so much was shared
Without their bodies
Only love was heard
It filled the sky like an explosion
It warmed the earth for days
They wondered as they floated back
Could they survive this phase
They slowly returned to atoms
Into denseness they were cramped
She opened her eyes as he held her hand
And for life they did thank. -
“Rabbit! Rabbit! Goose! Goose!”
Wailed the man from his hoose
Gone hopped the rabbit
Off waddled the goose
Into the forest
They got loose
Cried! He cried!
For his goose!
The man exclaimed
“I’ve got no juice”
The rabbit returned
Red faced and sweaty
Chased by a zebra
From the Serengeti
The zebra stopped
Saw the man
Returned to the forest to make a plan
To steal his house
And live their himself
Put all his trophies on a shelf
All the rabbits, all the geese
He stuffed himself
Full of peace
At the thought of his new future as a man
The zebra thought it was a cunning plan. -
A man of five foot ten
Olive green head to toe
Akin to a backpacker
Of a snowy mountain or so
A face shifty and in flight
He darted through the dark night
Weaving through the streets
With a handbag studded cream
Rummaging in the alley
Walking really fast
God is watching him
Karma’ll glaze her rath
Sweep over this shadow
Who somehow lost his way
I prey he finds the light
And the girl is ok
